We need you help!
Hi everyone - I'm helping some of my college friends advertise a bone marrow drive that they are conducting for their son. He was recently diagnosed with aplastic anemia - a disease which prevents his body from producing enough new blood cells. Treatments for aplastic anemia include medications, blood transfusions, & a bone marrow transplant. Naturally, the transplant can occur only if a match is available. This drive will hopefully improve his chances of finding a match. Although they are especially looking for Latino donors in this drive, donors of all ethnicities are needed and could help save a life. If you are interested, there are two ways you can help: 1) Become a donor: If you think you might consider becoming a bone marrow donor, then please see the attached flyer for details on their drive. You can join the donor registry online with a few simple steps. The website referenced in the flyer (www.bethematch.org) also contains a lot of good information about the process for donating. 2) Circulate the flyer: If you are comfortable posting this flyer anywhere such as a church, community center, etc., please feel free to do so. Additionally, you can email it to anyone else who you think might be interested in helping. Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions. Thanks so much. Kate
